‘Gilmore Girls’ Icon Lauren Graham Joins Colleen Hoover’s ‘Reminders of Him’
Apr 24, 2025
Colleen Hoover is on the hunt for starpower to fuel her latest feature-length adaptation, Reminders of Him, and she’s just captured another A-list actor in her snares. Today, Deadline announced that Gilmore Girls alum, Lauren Graham, is the latest to sign on for the upcoming Universal Pictures production. The actress joins an ever-growing callsheet of incredibly promising names that, so far, includes Maika Monroe (Longlegs), Tyriq Withers (I Know What You Did Last Summer), and Rudy Pankow (Outer Banks). The project is the latest to come from filmmaker Vanessa Caswill, who previously helmed the Haley Lu Richardson and Ben Hardy Netflix rom-com, Love at First Sight.
Hoover’s novel, Reminders of Him, follows a young mother named Kenna Rowan who has just been let out of prison after serving a five-year sentence for a life-changing accident. With her daughter back in her hometown, Kenna is forced to return to where everything went off the rails in an attempt to mend old wounds and get her daughter back into her life. It won’t be easy, though, as her late boyfriend’s parents have custody of her child and certainly don’t make things a walk in the park for Kenna. Through it all, the young woman fights for a second chance.
The film will see Monroe go head-to-head with Graham, with the former portraying Kenna and the latter appearing as Grace Landry, the mother of Kenna’s deceased boyfriend. As of right now, details surrounding Pankow and Withers’ characters have yet to be revealed, but in the book, Kenna finds a new love interest in the town, so it’s possible that one of the actors may have been cast in that role. Hoover serves as a co-scribe on the project’s adaptation alongside Lauren Levine. The pair will also produce under their Heartbones Entertainment banner alongside Little Engine Productions’ Gina Matthews.
What Else Has Lauren Graham Been Up To?
To so many of us, Graham will forever be linked to the hit series, Gilmore Girls, although her talents have spread from small-screen to big-screen and hopped between genres. Aside from the comedy drama that saw her as Alexis Bledel’s on-screen mother, Graham’s name is also synonymous with the six-season-running NBC series, Parenthood. At the tail end of last year, Graham joined another book-to-cinema adaptation of Lionsgate’s The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. And soon, hopefully, she’ll be spotted opposite Dylan O’Brien in the dark dramedy, Twinless. To get your Graham fix now, you can see her as part of the main cast in Tubi’s The Z-Suite.
Stay tuned to Collider for more to come about Reminders of Him.
