This weeks retro trailer is for the the classic 1986 B-movie sci-fi action thriller Eliminators , which was produced by Charles Band and directed by Peter Manoogian. The story follows a mandroid—a half-man, half-machine creation—named John who escapes from the clutches of the evil scientist Abbott Reeves after learning he’s about to be dismantled. With the help of a resourceful robotics expert named Nora Hunter, a comic relief riverboat pilot named Harry Fontana, a young ninja named Kuji, and even a small flying robot named SPOT, John sets off on a mission to stop Reeves, who plans to alter the past using a time machine and reshape history in his own image. The movie is filled with cheesy dialogue, mismatched genre tropes, and low-budget special effects. It’s one of those movies that just throws everything and anything at the screen! From cyborgs to ancient Rome to martial arts and killer androids. This is bonkers movie and it feels like a insane Saturday morning cartoon come to life.
